Create a New List

This section walks you through creating a new list on iContact.  If you already have a list, you can skip this section.

  • [iContact] From the home page, click “Contacts”
  • [iContact] Click “Create a List”
  • [iContact] Fill in the “List Name.  This will be used when you set up the integration within Kajabi.

Configuring the List

You’ll now need to create a custom field in iContact which is required by Kajabi.

  • [iContact] Click “Create A New Custom Field”
  • [iContact] Change the “custom field type” to “Text”
  • [iContact] Set the “Field Name” to “kjbfe”
  • [iContact] Set the “Public Name” to “kjbfe”
  • [iContact] Uncheck the box which says “Show field to subscribers”
  • [iContact] Click “Save” to save the custom field

Gathering Required Information from iContact

It is a little bit tricky to gather all of the required information from iContact in order to integrate. To get the information, you’ll need to create a new Sign-up Form in iContact and take a look at the generated HTML.  Follow the following instructions:

  • [iContact] Click on the “Contacts” tab at the top
  • [iContact] Click on “Sign-up Forms” in the navigation bar

  • [iContact] Click the “Create HTML Form” button
  • [iContact] Then click the green “Next” button

  • [iContact] Type in “Kajabi Integration” as the Sign-up Form name.
  • [iContact] Click the checkbox next to the list you want to integrate with when/if asked.
  • [iContact] Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the blue “Save” button.

  • [iContact] Now back to the Sign-up Forms page, locate "View HTML" for the Sign-up Form you just created and click on it.

  • [iContact] Scroll to the “Manual Sign-up Form” section.  You’ll see a text area with a scrollbar containing the HTML code for this signup form.  Scroll down until you see a line beginning like the following: “<input type=hidden name=clientid value="123456">”.  The number in quotes after “value=” is your client id.  Please write this down on a piece of paper because you’ll need to enter it into Kajabi in a minute.
  • [iContact] In that same text area, find the line beginning like the following: “<input type=hidden name="listid" value="12345">”. The number in quotes after “value=” is your list id.  Please write this down on a piece of paper because you’ll need to enter it into Kajabi in a minute.
  • [iContact] In that same text area, find the line beginning like the following: “<input type=hidden name=formid value="1234">”. The number in quotes after “value=” is your form id.  Please write this down on a piece of paper because you’ll need to enter it into Kajabi in a minute.
  • [iContact] In that same text area, find the line beginning like the following: “<input type=hidden name="specialid:12345" value="0MM2">”. The letters and numbers in quotes after “value=” is your special id.  Please write this down on a piece of paper because you’ll need to enter it into Kajabi in a minute.

  • You now have all the information from iContact that you will need to input into Kajabi.
  • (EXTRA) In order to add a confirmation request (Confirmed Opt-In) message to a sign-up form sent by your Autoresponder via email to the user , go to the My Contacts tab, then click on the "Sign Up Forms" link. To the right of each list name is a link for "Add Message." Click on that link and it will take you to where you can create the confirmation request message.
  • Do note that this is a separate action done by your Autoresponder and is not part of the Squeeze Page to Event Page automated sequence.
